Strategies for promoting cultural and social identity in neighborhoods of Iranian Islamic cities with an emphasis on family

The family is a pillar of social life in Islamic culture and teachings that is reflected in Iranian Islamic cities and urban neighborhoods. In the past, this has had a strong position in various social dimensions and lifestyles, but the developments of the contemporary era in the industrial, economic, cultural and social system have led to huge changes in the physical, cultural and social structure of cities and neighborhoods and the weakening of relations between citizens and the emergence of an identity crisis. The lack of a neighborhood center, apartment buildings and high-rise buildings, consumerism and individualism have led to the weakening of family-based neighborhood identity and residential towns have taken the place of neighborhoods. It seriously raises the need to recognize neighborhood identity. The purpose of this article is to explain the concept of family-based neighborhood identity from the perspective of cultural and social factors, which is carried out using the research method of text content analysis and logical reasoning with a qualitative and interdisciplinary approach. Therefore, after presenting the necessity of the problem in the theoretical foundations section, it tries to explain the concept of identity and neighborhood, examine cultural and social factors, explain their impact and role in the formation and consolidation of identity, and then present practical solutions to achieve the purpose of the article.
