Accepted Article Formats by the Journal: Original Research, Short Communication, Descriptive and Survey, Systematic Review, Case Report, and Letter to the Editor. All articles must meet the following structural requirements:
A) Persian and English Title (exact translation)
B) Persian and English Abstract (exact translation) containing the following sections: Aims, Methods, Findings, and Conclusion; minimum 150 and maximum 250 words.
C) Persian and English Keywords (exact translation), minimum 3 and maximum 6 words, which must be selected from MeSH (Medical Subject Headings).
D) The main text specifications according to article type are as follows:

Original Research:
These articles result from the authors' research activities, involving data analysis and are not merely descriptive. At least 70% of articles in each issue are of this type. Their sections include: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Findings (with a maximum of 4 diagrams), Discussion, and Conclusion (3000 to 8000 words).
Short Communication:
Research articles in emerging fields presenting new findings with little background in the literature. The innovative aspect is crucial; short length alone does not qualify an article for this category. Sections include: Introduction, Materials and Methods, Findings (with a maximum of 2 diagrams), Innovation Aspects, and Conclusion (1500 to 2000 words).
Descriptive and Survey:
Articles that solely collect descriptive data through various tools such as checklists and questionnaires, without providing specific statistical analysis. These are not considered research articles and are only accepted if they demonstrate strong practical impact. Sections include: Introduction, Tools and Methods, Findings (with a maximum of 2 diagrams), Practical Aspects, and Conclusion (2000 to 2500 words).
Systematic Review:
Review articles with a research structure written by experts in the field. The materials used are other research articles in the subject area, which must have been comprehensively reviewed. Sections include: Introduction, Information and Methods, Findings (with a maximum of 1 diagram), Discussion, and Conclusion (4000 to 8000 words; 50 to 60 references, at least 5 of which should be the authors' own original research articles).
Case Report:
When encountering rare cases, especially in medical fields, authors can provide a report of the patient along with the therapeutic measures and results. Sections include: Introduction, Patient and Methods, Findings (with a maximum of 2 diagrams), and Conclusion (1000 to 1500 words).
Letter to the Editor:
These articles usually pertain to expert opinions on published articles in the journal, potentially critiquing them. On suitable occasions, the editor may personally write or invite experts to write such articles. Sections include: Introduction, Main Headings as per the author's discretion (1 to 2 items), and Conclusion (800 to 1000 words). All articles must have the following 5 sections at the end: Acknowledgements, Ethical Approvals, Conflict of Interest, Authors' Contribution, and Funding/Support. If there is nothing to report for any heading, the phrase "Not reported by the authors" should be used.
Note: Using the journal's articles as a source (citing articles published in the "Political-Spatial Planning" journal) will be an advantage for authors.
Article Submission Guidelines
The article submitter is considered the main correspondent for all journal matters regarding the article, and all subsequent correspondence and notifications will be with them. Upon submission, a letter confirming and introducing the corresponding author, signed by all authors, must be submitted to the journal, specifying the order of authors' names and one "Corresponding Author."
When submitting or editing the article file, ensure that the Persian and English abstracts, Persian and English keywords, and the required author information are accurately placed in the appropriate sections. Articles lacking this information will not enter the review process.
Format the entire article file in single-column, on A4 paper with equal 3 cm margins from top, bottom, left, and right. Use Persian font "Mitra" (size 12) and English font "Times New Roman" (size 11) with 1.5 line spacing.
The article file must have 5 separate parts: Title Page (1 page), Abstract (1 page), Main Text, References, and Diagrams (each on a separate page, with explanations on the same page).
A) The title page must include the Persian and English title and complete details of all authors in the order of listing.
For the Corresponding Author: Name, Surname, Highest Degree and Field of Study, Affiliation (in this format: Department Name, Section/Research Center Name, Faculty/Research Institute Name, University/Research Center Name, City, Country), Mobile Number, Landline Number, Postal Address, and Email Address must be specified.
For Other Authors: Name, Surname, Highest Degree and Field of Study, Affiliation (in the same format as above), and Email Address must be specified, and their order should be clear.
B) The abstract page should first contain the Persian abstract and keywords, followed by the English abstract and keywords.
C) Strictly avoid using footnotes in the main text. The only case where a footnote can be used is when more than 500 words are quoted from a source; in this case, the source must be cited in the footnote, and a mere reference is not sufficient.
D) Refrain from placing any diagrams (figures, tables, or charts) within the main text. Only place the number of each item (e.g., Figure 2, Table 4, or Chart 1) where they should appear, centered, in parentheses, with one line space from the text above and below. Place diagrams at the end of the article, each on a separate page, and ensure they have numbers and captions (Persian font size 10, English size 9). Use three independent numbering series for figures, tables, and charts within the text. Ensure that each diagram's caption is self-explanatory without needing the main text.
E) Write the article text in Persian and strictly avoid writing words in Roman letters. For non-Persian words without a common Persian equivalent, transcribe the word using Persian script. Where necessary, provide the non-Persian equivalent of a Persian word in the same location within parentheses (do not use footnotes for this purpose). The non-Persian equivalent of a specific word should be provided only once, the first time the Persian word is used.
F) Article acceptance at Tarbiat Modares University journals is conducted exclusively electronically. The steps for electronic submission are as follows:
After entering the specific website of each journal, registration is mandatory for article submission.
After logging into the website with your username, select the "Article Submission Form" from the section for authors.
In the next step, select and confirm the number of authors, article type, and up to 3 article topics.
On the page provided at this stage, all mandatory sections must be completed with accurate information. Note that even if the system confirms the submission, if all information is incomplete or the article file is not submitted in the specified order, the article will be rejected by the site administrator. For submitting the article file, one and only one file containing all article information must be uploaded and submitted. The article file must be in Word format and contain the article and author information page; abstract and keywords; main text; references; and tables, charts, and figures along with their captions.
Citation Style
In-text citations must follow the APA style and be entirely in Latin. Cited sources within the text should include the author's surname, publication year, and page number in parentheses, e.g., (Mirhaydar, 2007: 22). The style for writing reference details at the end of the article, alphabetically, must be as per the examples below with exact translation and [Persian] mentioned in brackets at the end.
