Abstract
In today's global system, the issue of water, especially shared water resources, plays a decisive role in relations between countries, and the type of exploitation of each government affects hydropolitical relations. The present study, with a descriptive-analytical nature, examines the political and environmental effects of the Turkish DAP project on Iran in the Aras Basin And to collect, analyze, and evaluate data, library resources and questionnaire tools were used, and SPSS software was used to analyze data and The data analysis method in this study is mixed. Based on the results of the t-test, each of the items is also greater than the critical value of 1.64, which proves that all items have a very significant relationship with our desired results. In fact, by implementing and completing this project, Iran will become politically dependent on Turkey and increase Turkey's hydrohegemonic power in the region. Also, the completion of this project will harm agriculture and industry in Moghan by reducing the flow of water in the Aras River and will disrupt the supply of drinking water to cities in the northwest of Iran. This will increase the water security problems in Iran by expanding the use of groundwater resources and climate change. Finally, with the decrease in the river flow and considering the pollutants that enter this basin through urban and industrial wastewater and agricultural pesticides upstream, the concentration of these pollutants in the Aras River will increase and Iran will be harmed.
